Ad...ven...ture? [13 Dec 2009|03:27pm] harlequinno [ mood | sick ] It's snowing! Finally, after pretty much the driest winter I've had up here in a long time, it's giving me the money shot! If I'm lucky it'll stick, and I'll get to build a snowman on the roof of our new building. I had a dream about a week ago that I found the Meoto Iwa under an overpass, kind of like the one with where the Fremont Troll is. The water around the base was mostly dried up, so I just climbed the rocky shore up to the rocks, and there was a dripping water spigot at the top, near the small torii. It was kind of weird. I just got a new credit card for American Airlines--I mean, I applied, and was approved, and I should get it soon. I know about the dangers of credit cards, but they'll give me 30,000 miles if I can spend $750 on it within the first four months, and that'll give me enough air miles to fly round trip to Japan for free... which I'd really like to do. I love traveling, but the airfare's always the scary part. This way I can just save up money for a year or so and then I can eat all the soba I can handle for two weeks... Work is still stressful, but it's getting better. Tomorrow I have a lot of gifts to process, I don't want a repeat of last year. I'm going home on Christmas Eve, and hanging around the bay for a few days, and then I'm taking the Coast Starlight down to Santa Barbara to spend a few days with Claire and then fly back up on the 3rd. I think it might be the longest train trip I've ever been on, though the overnight train I took from Paris to Venice might have been longer. At any rate, it sounds kind of fun and at the very least I can do some drawing and reading on the ride. post comment
